The Airport Operations Specialist position
performs various duties with established policies and
procedures as directed by operational requirements. Position assures continuous
safety and security compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Parts 77
and 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Part 1542, in addition to all
other applicable statutes, regulations, and requirements. Duties include, but
are not limited to, airfield inspections, responding to airport alerts in an
Operations and ARFF capacity, snow removal, periodic safety and quality control
inspection of aviation fuel storage facility and fueling operations, safety and
environmental compliance, emergency response, NOTAM management, wildlife
management, and other duties as assigned.
The
airport operates 24/7 365 days per year and schedules may vary based on
business needs. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and require
working irregular and rotating schedules.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or
equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited institution in Airport or Aviation/Aerospace Management,
Aviation/Aerospace Science, Business or Public Administration, or closely
related field preferred
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able
to successfully complete a 7-year Pre-employment Background Investigation,
inclusive of motor vehicle record check, and the 10-year Criminal History
Background Check (CHRC) necessary to obtain and maintain federally
mandated security clearances required to work at an airport
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in either:
airport operations or administration; or in position with direct aviation
relevance such as Fixed Base Operator (FBO), airline, air cargo carrier,
airfield maintenance, and/or airport emergency services, possession of a
Private Pilot Certificate
- Must be able to meet the physical
requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position
- Must
be dependable, responsible, and able to work without supervision
- Must
possess excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills and
perform well under pressure
- Must
be able to read and understand spatial and graphical displays and enter
information into hard copy or computer-based logs and records
- Experience
with snow removal equipment in a runway environment preferred
- ACE Ops
Certification or AAAE CM Certification or be able to obtain
within 12 months of employment
- Ability to understand and follow
instructions and possess the physical strength, agility and coordination needed
for the performance of essential aircraft, rescue, and fire fighting duties
- ARFF certified or be able
to qualify within 6 months of employment for ARFF certification
Compensation:
Starting pay rate of $28.00 per-hour depending on experience.
